This production was made on cotton fabric, with masonry mortar and Epogea print combined with a 33×22 cm aluminum plate.
The materials used are those of the artistic tradition, the same as those used in masonry and decoration.
The reproduction printed on these bases, takes on a characteristic pictorial or intaglio imprint. Our wall surfaces, restore all shades of gray and make colors more intense while improving their stability over time, remaining unchanged for many, many years.
The mineral base of the material used can be felt to the touch. In this way, the image is strengthened and becomes a living memory of the place, history and what it is meant to represent.
Bugnara, a member of the association I borghi piĆ¹ belli d’Italia since 2007, is the first village in the Sulmona basin located on the ancient Sannitica road leading to Scanno and Villetta Barrea.
The earliest documented records are detectable from the 6th century although some findings denote that the village has been inhabited since much earlier. In 1000 the church of Our Lady of the Snows was built. In 1079 the village was reported to be a fief of Simon of Sangro. The fief remained in this family until the extinction of the lineage in 1759 with Vittoria Mariconda di Sangro. The 11th century saw the construction of the ducal palace by the same family.
Impressive is the Ducal Palace, built in the 12th century by the di Sangro family, who lived there until 1500. The palace is surrounded by walls, of which the side parts with cylindrical turrets are preserved; the rest of the castle was converted into residential quarters in the 18th century, with an inner courtyard.
