On the large front wall of the Cathedral Of Our Lady Of Arabia in Awali, Bahrain, a copy of this famous crucifix has been placed equal to the original in size and materials used (wood, fabric, masonry mortar, colors, waxes and gold). The reproduction of Giotto ‘s fresco showing the meeting of St. Francis with Ayyubid Sultan al-Malik al-Kamil was made for the Holy See pavilion at Expo Dubai 2020. It is placed in a small round-shaped loop as if it were a cylinder open on one side. This installation, begins the journey of visitors who can get close to the work to the point of touching it, appreciating the workmanship on authentic lime wall, quite similar to the traditional fresco.
